If there is a phrase that could describe Adelyn perfectly, it would be “ a breath of fresh air”.
Adelyn entered the studio cautiously at first, clinging to her mom as her eyes wander around the studio, absorbing each and every detail of the set. We had decided on a Korean flower shop for our first concept and our studio was full of pretty pastel blooms of every colour and roses hanging from the ceiling. I remember looking at the set and telling myself that I really do have the dreamiest job in the world.
Adelyn was reserved and quiet at first (just like most toddlers), but it was not long before the studio was filled with the sound of giggles, squeals and laughter. As a photographer who prefers candid shots instead of posed portraits, it was a delight shooting Adelyn. Her curious nature and boisterous personality made it possible for me to truly capture her essence and all the captured images really reflects Adelyn as a person. Spending time with children always reminds me to stop and appreciate life more. Sometimes we get so caught up in life that we forget to stop and smell the flowers. Looking at Adelyn being so enthralled and fascinated by the different textures and colours of the flowers just brings a breathe of fresh air and new perspectives to me.
