For Heaven’s Sake, I was so full of love upon the heart-stirring photo shoot session with the Tjanaka’s family! Yes, I simply love all the moments that Tjanakas had created. The quiet one, the loud one, the happy one and the sweet one. Every single moment that basically makes them a family, that’s incredibly beautiful and awe-inspiring. There are times in life where connections merely work out that it is so simple as ABC. And this is one of those cases. I absolutely, with no doubt, love capturing this family; they are exactly as fun, admiring, delightful and warm-hearted as these pictures show. Both of them are an ideal definition of good parents and definitely good role models to all newbie parents out there. I really admire their patience as well as their unconditional support and love for each other. In spite of an affection deficit of being together for almost a decade, I can still see clearly the sparkles they have in their eyes, for each other, and for their children, especially. I personally just believe the idea of parent’s affection shapes a child’s happiness and positive behavior for life.
To tell you the truth, the entire photography session was not all about sunshine and rainbows. It is indisputable that there’s always a hard time to photograph juniors, and adults, together, in one certain frame. The daughter of Tjanaka, Kimmy, was a little bit shy at first, but after spending few lovely hours in the studio, she just turned out to be a very bright, zippy, zingy kid at heart. Another challenging part was when I had to manage the baby Khai to fit the frame while the adults were ready for the shoots. There’s literally no room for fake smiles or pretending. However, truth to be told, it is somewhat a positive thing. All the simple and natural acts allow me to capture the true essence of Tjanaka’s family. And ultimately, what we have is a real, inspiring, and beautiful family story: fun, organic, sometimes messy, but with so much love.
